Rebecca E Tenzer
I’m Rebecca Tenzer—mental health clinician, CEO, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Astute Counseling & Wellness Services in Chicago. I created Astute with one mission: to change the way we view mental health and how we treat those seeking support. I believe in whole-person healing that goes beyond the therapy room—offering everything from trauma-informed therapy to restorative yoga, sound baths, Reiki, and wellness workshops, all under one roof.
My path to building this space wasn’t easy. I launched and grew Astute during challenging personal and global times, fueled by grit, passion, and a deep belief that mental health care should be accessible, inclusive, and human. I’ve learned that healing isn’t linear, that leadership means staying grounded in your values, and that some of the most powerful work happens when no one’s watching.
My story is one of resilience, reinvention, and radical compassion. I’m here to shake up the system, build community, and empower others to heal on their own terms. Because everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and reminded: you are not broken—you are becoming.
